Okamura (Japan) leases 2500 sf at NeoCon, the world’s largest contract interiors show. We help make them relevant.

Building upon a 70-year history of signature craftsmanship and a passion for creative materials, Okamura is Japan’s leading furniture manufacturer. When they wanted to raise their profile among architects and interior designers in the US market, they engaged LA’s HOK Product Design.

The project’s creative brief asked: “What is the essence of a conference table? How can it bring a profound presence, with a high premium on design and comfort—yet in a way that meets the changing needs of today’s workforce?”

Inspired by architecture and made possible by advances in structural engineering, HOK designed the Traverse series of tables—featuring a top so thin that it seems to float gracefully on the minimal support system, yet can span up to 20 feet in length.

In 2016 and 2016, Okamura engaged us to help them tell this and other product stories for 50,000+ attendees at the world’s biggest contract interiors trade fair in Chicago, as well as to make introductions to the interiors press, including Interior Design, Contract, Interiors & Sources, Metropolis and other magazines.

“To say it has been a pleasure working with 26 Tools would be an understatement. They led the effort around the release of the collection… no stone was left unturned – they handled all of the logistics and it all went perfectly. Also, their care for and dedication to their client was unparalleled—it felt as though they worked for the client, and not their own firm.”
